The sound of slicing mushrooms, tasting pasta, stewing shellfish in a bath of tomatoes, parsley and garlic, and serving it to a home full of friends with wine and a lively playlist makes me happy to no end. Dive into my experience below:
Saveur Magazine
Saveur means flavor in French and this award-winning publication makes international cuisine approachable to the home cook. I tested and wrote published recipes like Whole Baked Red Snapper with sausage, fennel and olives from Portugal and black seaweed salad from Hawaii.
Experience:
- Write recipes for magazine features using a user-friendly format
- Procure gourmet produce, meats, spices and unique fare
- Cook and enhance international recipes for magazine features
- Style recipes for photo shoots, based on magazine’s look and feel
- Prepare sets and cuisine for food filming
Handmade by Brandon Maya:
Panko crisp shrimp lollipops, crepe bundles with creme fraiche and caviar, fried pickles, seared lamb chops with parsnip puree…
